McElhone was a Scottish-born bartender, famous for his cocktails. His compendium of recipes, arranged alphabetically, also includes tips on the arrangement of a bar, hints to bartenders, and selected toasts. This edition also has an introduction by Harry claiming the "little pocket manual" is in great demand since he left Ciro's to open his own place in Paris (Harry's New York Bar). N. B.
