Early fictional account of life in a flying school between the wars. Rhys died young, on 5 August 1940, while serving as a bomber pilot in the Royal Air Force. His three books all reflect a passion for flying, the relationship between pilot and machine, and the human relationships that spring from this shared passion. N. B.
