Program for Labor to Defeat Fascism [Turn Back the Attack of the Labor-Haters!]

Akron, Oh: Independent Labor League, n.d. [1943, from preface]. Stapled Wrappers. Only edition of this full-throated left-wing program to advance labor interests, published in the midst of the Second World War and couched in strongly antifascist terms. Slim demy 8vo (207 x 151mm): 15,[1]pp, with two illustrations. Original blue staple-bound wrappers printed in black, wood- (or lino-) cut vignette to front cover. Virtually pristine example of this rare pamphlet, with only two copies noted by Worldcat (Ohio State University and the Wisconsin Historical Society Library). Fine. Item #BB2341

Perhaps the work of Burr McCloskey, labor organizer and later publicist, who in 1943 edited the Independent Labor League's newspaper, The Sentinel, and in 1956 ran as a third-party candidate for vice-president. N. B. With few exceptions (always identified), we only stock books in exceptional condition, carefully preserved in archival, removable mylar sleeves. All orders are packaged with care and posted promptly. Satisfaction guaranteed.
